The India International Trade Fair has grown to become a significant occasion for the business community since its beginning in 1980. Every year, the occasion takes place at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India, between November 14 to November 27.

The statistics on participation attest to IITF’s enormous global reaction. Some 7500 national and 350 international exhibiting businesses participated in the 26th IITF (2006). More than 3 million ordinary visitors and 2,75,000 business visitors, including 91 delegations from 53 countries, attended the event. In fact, all business sectors will be urged to take part in order to represent India as a whole and open up new doors for significant corporate growth.
IITF 2014 had 6800 exhibitors in a 94,300 square metre space (1,015,000 sq ft). (gross) with participation from 30 States and Union Territories in the form of unique pavilions. This issue featured the products of 299 foreign businesses from 25 different nations. A total of 63 international trade delegations from Afghanistan, Angola, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Canada, China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, and Oman, as well as about 40,000 domestic business travellers, had attended the fair. The fair saw almost a million public visitors.
