Heritage Tour

Spend two weeks journeying through Central India, experiencing its rich culture and heritage. From ancient times people have been coming here for spiritual rejuvenation, for finding new paradigms, new ways of looking at life and now it’s your turn to do the same.

The tour starts in New Delhi, a city which is a fusion of the old and new. First visit old Delhi, and go through its narrow and vibrant market streets to see one of the largest Mosques in the country, Jama Masjid. Enjoy the tasty delicacies of old Delhi, especially its Paranthas and Kababs and then see the heritage of the Moguls in the form of Red Fort. Then head over to Raj Ghat, as you transition from the old to the new. Pay homage to the father of the nation at Mahatma Gandhi Smriti. Feel the vitality of the Indian Democracy at the President’s House and the Parliament. Then dabble your feet into some spirituality by seeing AksharDham Temple and Lotus Temple. And if there is time left, recede back into the ancient mode by seeing one of the architectural marvels of bygone times, Qutub Minar.

Next the trip moves to the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. In Jaipur, you can listen to the whispers of the numerous windows of Hawa Mahal. You can also enjoy the panorama of the city from the back of an elephant at Amber Fort and see the precision of ancient Indian Mathematicians and Astrologers at work in the Jantar-Mantar observatory. Visit the Galta Temple to spend time with its playful monkey inhabitants, and then conclude your evening by roaming the vibrant city markets.

On our way to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, the red-stone city built under the auspices of the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. In Agra, there awaits for you one of the seven wonders of the world, Shahjahan’s monument of love for his Queen Noor-Jahan, the Taj Mahal. Experience the splendor of its architecture and the romance which permeates its very air on moonlit nights.

The last stage of the tour takes us to places like Orchha,  Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh and Bhopal. In Khajuraho, see the ancient temples of love, a celebration of sex, culture and the teachings of Kamasutra, Later visit Bhandavgarh National Park, to get a glimpse of India’s rich wildlife. The capital city of Bhopal, known for its amazing food, its Nawabi Chivalry, and its beautiful lakes is a treat for any visitor. Here also lies Sanchi Stupa, where are inscribed the dictates of the greatest king of ancient India, Ashoka, an advocate of peace and universal human welfare.
